There are various individuals and companies who might benefit by using offshore structures and companies. In general a businessman will create an offshore company in order to start working without having to deal with all the administration and paper work necessary by some onshore jurisdictions. Offshore companies are much easier to manage and will reduce or even completely cancel paying taxes depending on the jurisdiction you are operating from.
A lot of our clients require offshore companies when dealing with international trading, are acting as consultants, trading in e-commerce or use offshore companies as holding companies in order to hold several of their assets (yachts, planes, houses etc.) or even to register their trade marks, domain names and patents.
Additionally, an offshore company may be used as a means of avoiding inheritance tax laws. In order to optimize inheritance tax liability, the offshore structure may also combine a trust or foundation.
This will depend on the jurisdiction you choose. We normally prepare and finalise all documents necessary within one week from the time we receive all information required to form your new company. Once the final documents have been prepared and signed and your company has been incorporated, it will take about 2-6 days for the documents to reach you.
In case you choose a Cypriot company, you will be able to purchase an "off the shelf" company which we hold in our offices. This will minimise the waiting time and in most case documents can be sent to you within 1-2 working day.
A "Shelf Company" is a company that has already been formed and that has been put on a "shelf" until someone agrees to purchase it. The reasons we do that is because a lot of times our clients require a company immediately and are not able to wait for a week until all documents are prepared, approved and the company is incorporated.
Additionally, some of our clients prefer to buy a company that has been incorporated a while ago, as it gives a track record and sometimes more credibility to the company.
"Shelf companies" are more expensive as they are older and in most cases the annual maintenance fees from the time of incorporation might need to be paid.
You should firstly have a clear mind of what you need the offshore company for. You should then make sure that the country you choose has a great banking system, good communication means, a good political and economical stability, a good reputation and a stable legal system.
All jurisdictions mentioned in our website and with which we are dealing with enjoy these benefits. Additionally, depending on your country of residency, the type of business you will be contacting and the location of where your business will be contacted, you should choose the jurisdiction that suits your needs best.
Should you have any further doubts or need any further advice, please ask to discuss this with one of our tax lawyers/advisors.
Yes, this is one of the fields you need to fill on our order form. We normally ask our clients to provide up to three names in order of preference. If not, we will send you alternative names for you to choose from. We also have lists of shelf companies or pre-approved names which we will be able to provide you with upon request.
